How do I play theme deck Unseen Depths correctly? Posted: 18 Mar 2020 08:51 AM PDT Dear all, new player here. I've been playing PTCGO for almost a week. When I have earned the first 1000 coin with Mental Might, I just bought Unseen Depths today. However, to my surprise, I didn't win more. I think I played something wrong, so I am asking for help here. Let's start from what I did. Usually I started with Psyduck or Pyukumuku. I would played Aipom or Kyogre only without other option. I would avoid playing Piplup first. Then I just drew a lot of cards. Re-shuffle my hand to aim for Evolution. Pokemon Communication was reserved mainly for Empoleon line. If evolving to Golduck would kill maybe two of my opponent Pokemon. I would do it. Sometimes when I finally had Empoleon, my opponent bench was sitting Pokemon with more than 100 HP. Thus my lovely penguin basically did nothing. Kyogre was a good attacker but required time to set up. Most likely it sat on the bench with one Energy. Switched in after team-mate died. Attached one Energy from Hand then two from Discard. If opponent had a hard beater or being Grass, Kyogre probably only had one chance to attack. Now here are some problems I faced. Mana screw. Sorry it is a MTG term but I don't know that PTCG called it. I started with no Energy card and those Drawing support card failed to save me either. Being behind. I had no idea what to do if my Empoleon or Krogre was killed by my opponent's ace. Now they were sitting with three or more Energy and dealing over 100 damage per turn. What should I do to improve my play? [link] [comments] |

How can I update my deck / make it better? Posted: 17 Mar 2020 10:22 PM PDT That's 2 Red & Blues, 2 Tate & Lizas, and 11 energy So I started playing PTC at my local game shop back in July with some low-budget decks I borrowed from a friend. A little after I invested in my first "real" (but still low-budget) deck, which was a variation of this Vaporeon x Glaceon with NagQuag engine. I love this deck and even took it to Daytona in November and beat a few MewTwos with it which was awesome. I've taken a little bit of a break from playing regularly and coming back to play last month it feels like I am just not holding up against other decks that are out there right now. The biggest changes I've made since first building it was adding that non-GX vaporeon, the new eevees that put other eevees on the bench, and R&B. I tried playing 4 R&B at some point to get a faster setup, and that worked, but it made trying to set up NagQuag a little redundant and I wasn't sure what to do with the extra space. I thought about more evolutions maybe, but there are only so many eevees you can put in, and I wasn't sure about committing to eevee GXs. With the new cards out now I think there are so many more options, but I'm a little overwhelmed with it all. So I'm looking for some guidance on where to go. Do you think there is still potential in this set up? Is there a way to modify it to work better against the new decks? What could I add/remove? Should I scrap it and look into something else? I am a college student on a modest budget but am willing to spend a little, especially if it feels like a good fit. I love this deck and how it feels to load up Vaporeon with loads of energy or use Glaceon's GX for a crazy KO, just want to stay hip with the times! Thanks!! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Mar 2020 01:35 PM PDT If I have all of the cards in a particular theme deck, but have never purchased that theme deck, can I build it and use it in theme deck battles? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Cheapest yet good Tag team pokemon to use? Posted: 17 Mar 2020 11:52 AM PDT I am a returning player and used up many of my old cards (resources ) to build a deck and decided on a Morpeko V deck, it has since evolved into Dusknoir Peko deck for expanded. Through many games I realized how OP tag team cards are ... I'd even go as far to say Tag team cards are significantly better than Vmax cards, though they both cost 3 prize cards. My deck cannot keep up with many. With that being said, I need some advice on making a cheap yet good Tag team deck :-) last I played was when Jolteon EX was released. [link] [comments] |
