Posted: 12 Mar 2021 06:31 AM PST I've been doing strictly theme tourneys, and am thinking about expanded. However, I run a fighting deck that has some polarized matchups, and I'd like a deck that's more well-rounded. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 12 Mar 2021 07:58 AM PST This is a decklist I am setting as a goal for a casual water themed deck. I dont have all of the cards listed yet, and I hope to get advice before committing too hard lol Decklist: ##Pokémon - 18 * 3 Froakie KSS 12 * 3 Galarian Darmanitan V VIV 169 * 4 Lapras BKP 28 * 3 Frogadier BKP 39 * 1 Greninja XY 41 * 1 Greninja DET 9 * 2 Galarian Darmanitan-VMAX VIV 187 * 1 Greninja BREAK BKP 41 ##Trainer Cards - 20 * 3 Steven ROS 90 * 3 Professor's Letter XY 123 * 1 Misty's Favor UNM 202 * 3 Sonia RCL 167 * 4 Dive Ball PRC 125 * 3 Timer Ball SUM 134 * 3 Skyla BKT 148 ##Energy - 22 * 4 Counter Energy CIN 100 * 16 Water Energy Energy 3 * 2 Splash Energy BKP 113 Gameplan: Turn-0: Set up Lapras or Darmaintan V, bench Froakie or DarmaV if Lapras is in hand. Early game (T1-3): Search for trainers or deal moderate damage while setting up backline. Midgame (3-5): evolve DarmaV or Froakie, if Froakie; Frogadier attack to clone, evolve into Greninja. Evolution is supported from timer ball or Dive ball, aided by Skyla. Late game (5+): draw energies w/trainers to set up damage counters w/ Greninja abilities; supporting Darma V-Max, and hopefully doing heavy damage while punishing Tag-outs "Trainers notes" I am running so many lapras because trainers are key to this strategy, and a free skyla every turn trading for 1 prize card later is great support for this deck. Darmanitan is VIP and does the damage, eventually wounding backrow to support greninja punishes when it evos. Energies protect Darma or Ramp its stronger attacks, otherwise theyre mostly discard fodder for Greninja. [link] [comments] |

New player picked up Crobat vmax premium collection. Looking to build standard deck Posted: 11 Mar 2021 04:24 PM PST So like the title says I'm a newer player and happen to score one of the Crobat vmax premium collection packs from a local card shop. But I have no idea how to build a standard deck. I've been reading a bunch of the guides posted here but am still completely clueless how to build without specific cards. I also picked up the Trainer Toolkit code off eBay. Looking at some of the decks from limitless, I have: Crobat V, Crobat Vmax, galarian zigzagoon, sneasel, Umbreon & darkrai gx. Some other cards I have are: darkrai ex, dedenne gx, the unseen depths theme deck, and the gears of fire theme deck (I know it's a bad deck, but GF bought it for me). I also have 2 shining fate and 1 ViV able to be traded. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Mar 2021 07:52 PM PST First up: Dracozolt V and Dracozolt VMAX Dracozolt V [L] Rumble Beak: 30 damage. During your opponent's next turn, your opponent can't attach Energy from their hand to the Defending Pokemon. [L][L][C] Mountain Swing: 180 damage. Discard the top 3 cards from your deck. When your Pokemon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. Weakness: Fighting (x2) Dracozolt VMAX – Lightning – HP330 [L] Trap Spark: 60 damage. During your opponent's next turn, if this Pokemon is damaged by an attack (even if this Pokemon is Knocked Out), put 12 damage counters on the Attacking Pokemon. [L][C][C][C] Max Impact: 200 damage. When your Pokemon VMAX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards. Weakness: Fighting (x2) Here is probably the best: Passimian – Fighting – HP110 Ability: Throwing Coach [F] Fling: This attack does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Pokemon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.) Weakness: Psychic (x2) Slurpuff – Psychic – HP110 [C][C] Follow the Smell: Flip 3 coins. For each heads, choose a card from your discard pile, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. [C][C][C] Fairy Wind: 80 damage. Weakness: Metal (x2) Now for some trainers: Avery – Trainer Draw 3 cards. Then, your opponent discards their Benched Pokemon until they have 3 Benched Pokemon. You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn. Brawly – Trainer Search your deck for up to 3 Rapid Strike Basic Pokemon and put them on your Bench. Then, shuffle your deck. You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn. [link] [comments] |

New player in need of some guidance Posted: 11 Mar 2021 10:49 AM PST Hi. I just started playing Pokemon TCG and TCGO. I've been playing the A.I. challenges and Theme deck Versus with Relentless Flame (someone said it was good). Now I'm trying to figure out where to go from there, but being new and not really finding any good info online, not knowing where to look, I'm not sure how. On one hand, just cashing in gold for RnG packs doesn't feel right and beyond that the Trade system seems either predatory or is just confusing (I've played Magic: The Gathering for a long time and ptcg has a very different market system). While I have expanded the collection with a few codes from tabletop products and from online retailers I'm not sure if thats what's "normal". Does anyone know about good articles, youtube videos or something similar that can help a new player navigate this new game? Or maybe you just know yourself. Thanks in advance. Edit: I should say, I'm looking to start playing both online and paper, and any format (but I'm a sucker for nostalgia so mainly gen I-IV pokemon. Branching out if it "feels right" or I get used to the newer ones) [link] [comments] |
How do you get 4 Stars on the Trainer challenges? Posted: 11 Mar 2021 09:24 AM PST Apologies for the nooby question, I'm only just getting started in TCGO. I beat one of the Trainers in what has to be the fewest turns I could have managed (1 turn setup then a KO every turn until victory) and still only got 1*. How do you get all 4? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 04:58 PM PST Hey all! I used to play pokemon TCG all the time when I was a kid, and just came back to the game in the form of TCGO with some college friends! I'm trying to learn all the aspects of the game, but trading seems like a beast. How do you know what different packs are worth? I know the classic of just figure it out, but I don't want to give away the few tradable cards / packs that I have. It seems like there are a lot of valuing tools for cards, but most rate them on only one pack set. Like, they are only rated on Vivid Voltage or Hidden Fates etc... If there are offers offering 3 vivid voltage but 5 hidden fates, but the online tool rates it in terms of SHINING fates, how do I know which is the better deal? Thanks for the help in advance :) [link] [comments] |
