Could you help a dad out?

    Posted: 12 Jan 2020 03:06 AM PST

Hey there, This is my first post to this sub. I have a 6 year old son who's started getting into the whole Pokemon thing. I'm an avid gamer myself and have a little experience with trading card games (eg: magic, hearthstone, gwent) but I'm totally new to Pokemon. Now, my son is mostly into just collecting the cool cards so far, but we play some PTCGO together. I newer got on the Pokemon bandwagon when I was young, but this online game really appeals to me. We've completed the tutorial and been doing the trainer challenges. We recieved a "Mental Might" deck in addition to the 3 starter decks. We have some extra cards from booster packs as well. Now I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me with.

    1. What's the best way to earn more tokens, tickets and booster packs?

    2. We have earned 500 tokens and want to spend them on a new deck. Any reccommendations as to which of the decks in the store that are fun, easy to play but still pretty decent.

    3. Are there any online deckbuilders/trackers other than the one in game? I mean like the ones you can find for Hearthstone (eg: icyveins + innkeeper) or is the in game deck builder good enough?

    4. What do you consider most important when building own decks? Any starting tips for deck building would be helpful. I'm a bit confused as to which cards/decks can be used in the different parts of the game. Being a total noob in pokemon, the sheer amount of cards and iterations are quite overwhelming.

I heard it was fun to combine theme decks and play in standard

If this is true, which deck should I combine with Laser Focus and what is the deck list?
