Beginner question about coins.

Hello everyone. I just started playing this past week. My return to anything Pokemon in well over a decade. Since I was a kid really. But I've been having a blast so far playing with the theme decks.

I just had a question about the coins in game. From my understanding the only use for them is buying structure decks, buying packs, and using them to post trades. Am I correct about this? So far I've bought both Charizard and Dragonite decks. I've been thinking about buying other structure decks to acquire staple trainer cards. Is this what I should be doing if I want to slowly go in the direction of making my own decks to play in standard?

And if anyone wants to know what deck I plan on building towards, I've been thinking about a Malamar based deck. It looks fun and I've read that it's on the cheaper side to build. Thoughts on this as well?

I nearly had a heart attack today

I bought $10 worth of sun and moon team up packs, yknow like almost nothing.

I pulled two foil stellar wish jirachis, I got a couple other good pokemon such as Pikachu and zekrom, eevee and snorlax, and celebi and venusaur.

I traded the jirachi's for 44 sword and shield packs which I know was dumb but I ended up having the best luck I've ever had in my entire lifetime I got 1 celebi and venasaur GX, 1 eevee and snorlax GX, 1 hoopa GX, 1 pikachu and zekrom GX, 1 golden zacian V, 1 silver zacian V, 1 victini V, 1 torkoal V, 1 full art stonjourner V, 1 snorlax VMAX, 1 sableye V, 1 rainbow morpeko VMAX, 1 morpeko V, 1 lapras VMAX, and 1 indeedee V for ten dollars... TEN DOLLARS! First one to add me (MrKrabs8000) and comment on reddit saying they added me can get my espeon and deoxys GX!!

Dragon deck help

have gotten a lot of wins with this deck though I know it's not anywhere near optimized... should I take guzzlord and nagandel out? I don't get much success from them and not having dark energy in here would be nice, really just looking for a good non GX or EX to counter Hoopa and keldeo and ninetails and all those pokemon that don't take GX or EX damage, since I thought I was fine with GG end GX but those pokemon weren't affected by the discard, would love reccomendations!

I was browsing the trade market and saw a trade for arceus palkia and dialga GX for a snorlax V + 4 more, I clicked the browsing of it just to see what else was up for the trade and I triple clicked instead of double clicked, my mouse was positioned right on the accept trade button and boom, my Arceus palkia and dialga GX sold for a Snorlax V and miscellaneous garbage.. anyway I can get that refunded through support or am I SOL

Beginner question: How to deal with GX cards?
