Public trade offers are crazy slow to load

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 02:27 PM PDT

Exactly what it says, the Public Offers section of View Trades takes several minutes to load at best, sometimes I'm waiting for a few dozen minutes. Is there some setting I'm unaware of that could possibly make this faster? The rest of the game is incredibly quick and responsive.

    For reference,

I do have cards that are acceptable, trades do eventually pop up they just take a long while.

    Don't have a VPN running

I'm on gigabit wired connection in a fairly consistent area of KC. Certainly not Seoul internet, but I'm not out on a farm.

Do the tcgo codes ever expire?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 08:57 PM PDT

So I just found a stack of these card codes that I started a few years ago, some of them I'm sure are recent enough to still be good, but I actually can't remember how old the bottom of the stack is.

Has anyone experienced a code that that was actually too old to redeem?

I know nothing about TCGO, started saving them up a long time ago with the idea of selling them, but would rather just give them away now.

    Trading in PTCGO

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 08:11 PM PDT

Why is trading in PTCGO so annoying? Why do I have to go through and enter which cards I want to trade? Is there a way to make every card I own tradable?

    Strategy

    The star of the show

DRAW AS MANY CARDS AS YOU CAN!!!

Jokes asides, thats the strategy. Ambipom does 10x the numer of card on your hand. Ninetales and the other cards are here to help you draw. I say its the Funniest deck becaus ever since i started playing PTCG, i just love to draw cards, and this deck its based on this).

Finnaly have some use for this

BuT N/Judge tOTaLLy DeSTroYs tHiS dECk

Well, its a very good point, but it doesn't destroys competely. This deck is desinged for keep the draw even after a N.

When playing against N, you shoul put all the 3 ninetales on the bench( at least 2) and keep the max number of energy on your hand/deck as you can(with the help of the Superior Energy Retrieval), also keep the eggs on the discard pile, so you can increase the number when it needs to.

The problem it's N for 1/2 cards, thats a dangerous territory.

What destroys the deck its Hugh(Both players Discard/Draw until they have 5 cards in hand).

But as I can see, its rare a deck that plays 4 N(usually people play Oak/ Juniper), and I've never encoutered a Hugh.

    The arch Enemy

That's it, a fun deck that I never saw on Legacy.
    Give it a try!

    Any Suggestions for the deck?
(Sorry for my English, still practicing)

Silvally GX Viability in Metal Decks

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 10:08 PM PDT

I'm currently building my first standard deck (wow, this is a grind without spending money), and I'm following card lists on squadstate.com so far. I'm not quite there in terms of finishing my first deck, but I'm looking at random cards from my collection and trying to see where some randos might fit in. Is Blacephalon prevalent enough to consider running a Silvally GX in my LucMetal deck, or is it too niche/wasting spots on an already bad matchup? It has a 2 colorless energy move which just knocks out any ultra-beast, but at the expense of using my GX move for the match. It also has an ability that allows me to draw cards until I have 5 in my hand, so some minimal drawing power if it ends up sitting on my bench sometimes.

Am I being too eager, or would this be reasonable? Is this card even legal in standard?

Guys ptcgo is down for me and my internet is good what do I do

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 08:05 PM PDT

I have 500 code cards, I'm brand new, need some guidance...

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 09:25 AM PDT

I'm brand new to playing the actual Pokemon TCG. I've been a collector a long time but decided to start playing the game. I love it. But, I have no idea how to build a deck. Online tutorials seem to focused on people who understand the game.

I've got 500+ codes and was wondering if someone can offer some advice on how to build a proper deck that will be competitive?

How do I even build a deck? I've seen I can buy existing decks, but how to build from scratch? Is that even a good way to do it?

    Thanks all,

    J

How are you supposed to get coins in this game as a new player?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 05:54 PM PDT

I know the common advice is to get 500 coins and buy a theme deck. But I'm several days in and only at 350 coins, with no idea how to get more. I don't have any good cards to build a deck for the ladder, and the trainer battles only give TWO coins for winning. I tried talking the Mental Might deck on the theme ladder and got run over four games in a row.

    Question about formats

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 08:21 PM PDT

I understand Formats are a big part of pokemon TCG. Do they matter IRL? If they do is it just tournaments or is it also with friends?

What Urshifu VMAX deck do you suggest?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 12:29 PM PDT

    Hello, everyone!

Thanks to the BST tournament I got 100 tradeable packs and opened around 80 locked ones.

I got 3 Urshifu Single Strike VMAX and 2 ST V on the locked packs, but only 1 houndoom. The VMAXes are the most expensive so I can easily build a Single Strike deck just trading a few packs.

On the other side, I got zero Rapid Strike VMAX and just 1 RS V, but I can get 3 VMAX for around 60 packs and the rest of the deck for the rest of the packs.

I know that the obvious answer is "boy, just build the Single Strike deck" but on the standard queue I rarely see this deck, just the RS / RS Dragapult.

So your opinion: is the Single Strike deck good in the current meta or should I just spend all my packs on the Rapid Strike one?

    Thanks!

    Blastoise v decklist for noob

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 06:42 PM PDT

I wanna build a decent standard blastoise v deck that wont be expensive. I come from cardfight vanguard so some stuff is similar between the games.

Blastoise v theme deck codes are $3-6 so should i maybe get 4 of those to start off? Also dedenne codes are around the same price. I know the basic flow of the game now and almost about to get a theme deck so i can keep grinding for trade mats.

Also if you can maybe say roughly how much the physical version of the decklist would be thatd be appreciated

    Thank you

Are old meta decks any good?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 05:45 PM PDT

I was wondering if beast box was any good any more. I have the beast box deck with Stakataka gx, naganedel gx, and buzzwole gx. I was wondering if this deck could still preform decent with newer decks like mad party. Are older decks that did good in tournements still good decks?

Best way to get Dark Patches?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 09:25 AM PDT

I want to play a Dark deck in Expanded. The decks I want to try out use 4x Dark Patch. As I'm finding out, this is much more expensive online than Aqua Patch or other similar trainers.

Options for getting Dark Patch are:

    - Buy online Dark Explorers packs and hope to hit a Patch in 1:12 packs? This is gonna take forever because there's no way to buy coins. Grind, play tournaments, etc.
    - Trade for them at the current asking price of ~5 Battle Styles packs. This comes out to $3.45 in real funds per Patch if I had to buy Battle Styles codes at $.69 each.
    - Buy IRL Dark Explorers packs, LOL
    - Seriously, these packs are $200 each IRL?!? For the price of a box I'd rather look at buying a MTG power 9 card like Time Walk or a cheap Mox...

Are there any ways of picking these up that I'm missing?

PTCGO meta by time of day?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2021 12:15 PM PDT

I'm new to PTCGO but I've been playing a bunch for the last few weeks and I'm noticing something relatively annoying. I tend to play at night my time and it seems that at that time of day, the vast majority of people are playing rogue/meme decks.

I want to test my decks against relevant standard meta for tournaments, but I don't have a testing group. But I legit will play for 3-5 hours and almost never hit Pikarom, Etern, Dragapult, either Urshifu, Reshizard, Centi, Deci, etc.

I will, however, hit multiple Sandaconda, Excadrill control, Leon Zard, Weeingbell Salazzle, Spiritomb, Galarian Cursola, Gardevoir VMax, Falinx, etc.

I don't have a ton of tournament tickets, so I can't burn a bunch there every night. Is this just par for the course or do you think it's because Battle Styles added so much support for these single prizer rogue/meme decks that there's just a bunch of interest?
