Posted: 22 Apr 2020 03:29 AM PDT I know, there's only one GX attack per game and all that, but it just drives me crazy how there seems to be no point collecting or playing with the regular cards anymore?? A 3rd stage evolution with 120 HP isn't ever going to hold up against 4 decidueye GX with 240 hp each.. it's ridiculous. If you want any chance at winning now, you practically have to use GX or at least EX cards.. but unless I want to use the awful theme decks that I can't edit or build myself, I'm not going to ever really get a chance to play with the hundreds of regular non-GX cards i've got. :/ Especially with older cards; like the early 2000's sets, are basically useless even in legacy mode, since the power crawl is so ridiculous. Anyone else find the heavy reliance and overpowerdness of GX cards get's a little frustrating..? Just me..? Same goes for tag teams that are even worse. [link] [comments] |

I've been away from the game for quite some time and I was wondering, is it typical to get additional log in bonuses on or around the days that new sets are released, like "hey welcome back, enjoy "X" expansion here's 1,000 tokens"? I'll be sad when the April bonuses end on May 3rd. My kids have been crushing the dailies all April as they know their efforts translate to a theme deck pretty much every day or every other day. Posted: 21 Apr 2020 07:22 PM PDT Was in a tournament with a guy and was doing well until he pulled out a tagteam Togepi & Cleffa & Igglybuff. In the span of one turn, he attached sixteen Fairy energy cards from his hand to that tagteam, letting him sweep my team immediately with the GX move. I know there's some Pokemon with abilities that let you attach unlimited energy to your Pokemon, like Blastoise with Deluge, Feraligatr with Rain Dance, Emboar with Inferno Fandango, Magnezone with Magnetic Circuit, etc., but unless the wording is different, there's no counterpart like that for Fairy-types. (These abilities are usually on evolved Pokemon, too, and all of his were basic) I didn't see anything in the discard pile that would seem to show that he could do that, but I didn't have a lot of time to check. Considering Bede is a new card that only allows you to attach one energy to a Pokemon, and Kiawe maxes out at 4 and ends your turn, I have a hard time believing there's another card out there that would so hugely outclass them that I've never seen played before. I don't want to report someone falsely, and he did seem to have a setup with this goal in mind- a lot of Lady cards, Ribombee's Honey Gather, etc. (Might not even get any result from reporting, since I exited summary before getting the game log) Plus, why bother cheating only to use it at the last moment in a tournament, instead of just getting the money/cards you want? But I also have no clue how else this could have happened. Any help? EDIT: He also ended up losing the final round, so... make of that what you will. Posted: 22 Apr 2020 07:17 AM PDT I was looking at po town store where I had bought codes previously, however I was kinda surprised that it was selling rebel clash codes in bulk for 1.19 apiece, a rather large sum for online codes, especially considering some stores are even selling some of their packs for 1.50 post corona. | Posted: 22 Apr 2020 02:31 AM PDT So I have a fossil deck on TCGO, and when I started out I got hit with a mulligan, despite having 2 fossils in my hand. It's just weird that the card says "treat this card as a 60-HP colorless basic Pokemon, yet you cant place it down as your active, and the same thing goes for Pokedoll (which I understand more since you cant evolve it, nor can you take a prize off the KO). Does anybody know why this would be the case? Would it just be because of Unidentified Fossil being a trainer card? [link] [comments] |

| Best theme decks for future standard construction? Posted: 21 Apr 2020 11:16 PM PDT I'm just getting started with PTCGO but played a Pokémon years ago and MTG as well. What's the best bang for my buck (tokens) if I want to eventually be somewhat competitive in Standard? I still have trainer matches I can do but it's getting old fast. I know Relentless Flame is the theme deck meta right now but I'm not sure all those cards are allowed in standard and I know it's only a few months until another rotation. I read Laser Focus had some useful cards but not sure if those will rotate out, too? I assume buying one of the Sword & Shield decks will give me the most longevity and it seems Rillaboom is the favorite. Please note I'm not asking for the best theme decks for theme battles, but for future standard decks. I have almost 1500 tokens now so I can buy 2 and a 3rd soon so open to multiple suggestions. Like, should I get 2 of one theme deck or 3 different? From my limited amount of knowledge I'm thinking of getting RF to grind in theme ladder, plus maybe Laser Focus if it's going to remain standard(?) and maybe Rillaboom. [link] [comments] |

But I was clearly about to win, then he did some small 20 damage attack that didn't knock out my Pokemon at all, then the defeat screen just randomly popped up? WTF? Anyone ever have this happen? Edit: For context, I had 2 cards left to draw. He had 3. I had no pokemon on my bench with damage on them, and had a Snorlax in play with 100/150 damage AFTER his 20 damage attack.
