Top 10 most expensive cards in standard - week 28 Posted: 12 Jul 2020 12:14 AM PDT I'm definitely not going to do this every week, but here is this week's iteration of the top 10 most expensive cards in standard, this time with a few cards grouped together. Included some investor info, but I don't neccesarily recommend investing in most of these cards. Better to find cards which have yet to realize their value. 1. SR basic energies – 20-100 packs Investor info: Solid investment if you are taking the long view. Will always be standard legal. Will always have demand. You need to be prepared for wild swings in value though and I generally wouldn't recommend flipping these although some traders do. The main risk here is that the values are now cllsing in on their alltime peak and that new SR energies could potentially come along. 2. SR Quick Ball – 55 packs Investor info: Huge upside, just look at PLF Ultra Balls. The main risk, obviously, is that some other card (like a reprinted Ultra Ball) upstages it. That risk is probably not too great at the moment. 3. HGSS era reverse foil trainer cards – 10-50 packs Note: Since HGSS Switch is included here, I have not included the SR Switch, which is also highly valuable. Investor tip: You need to know what you are doing here. These are a pain to trade for and not even particularly easy to sell (for a good price, that is). The upside however, is that the supply chain is dead. Except for old players returning, the pool of these cards will only shrink over time. The main risk, however, is if the game brings back legacy events which rewards HGSS era packs. If that happens then these crash big time. Another risk is going after the expensive standard legal ones, because they could drop once they are no longer standard legal. Cards like Switch and Rare Candy, that are reprinted endlessly, should probably be safe though. 4. SR Crushing Hammer – 31 packs Investor tip: Quite meta dependent. In a meta with lots of energy recursion few decks will play this. Currently popular due to ADPZ and Dragapult VMAX really hating this card. The upside is that this probably remains standard legal for a very long time as the card is quite perfectly balanced. 5. RR Zacian V – 22,5 packs Investor tip: Highly meta dependent. As long as Zacian V remains part of a top tier deck this should retain high value. 6. COL energies – 12-22 packs Investor info: Like other HGSS stuff, pretty painful to trade for. The upside here is that the supply chain is dead. Infact, it is hard to see a major downside. 7. RR Dragapult Vmax – 20 packs Investor info: Totally dependent on Dragapult Vmax staying tier 1. Many people are speculating that this will end with Eternatus V coming out. 8. AA Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX - 19 packs Investor info: If ADP-Z becomes dominant again after DAA drops, this could go even further. If not, well it won't. 9. SR Scoop Up Net – 17,5 packs Investor info: Big upside. Card is insane. Main risk is the banhammer. I have a hard time seeing this below 20 in the future. 10. FA Boss's Orders – 16 packs Investor info: The best FA supporters tend to be valued lower than the best SR items and this has only been exacerbated by the new standard of printing both a FA and a RR version of supporters in the SWSH era. This means that we are probably unlikely to have a new Cynthia situation (Cynthia was around 50 packs for a long time). A value of maybe 20 for the best gust card in standard sounds about right to me, but who the hell knows? 10. SR Pokémon Catcher – 16 packs Investor info: After the release of Boss's Orders, I can't really see this going much further, but who knows? Gusting in an item card IS potentially very very strong. 10. FA Welder – 16 packs Investor info: Attached to fire decks. Only legal for one more year. Invest at your own risk. Final investors tip: I shouldn't really do this, but people keep asking, so here it is. If you do want to invest in cards from this list I would recommend SR Quick Ball and SR Scoop Up Net for fairly easy trades and I would recommend HGSS trainers and COL energies for those willing to put in a lot more work. However, I mostly recommend going for cards that have yet to realize their value. As with all investments, this is super speculative. I would suggest cards like FA Marnie, FA Professors Research and Eldegoss V. I also recommend investing in evergreen expanded bling cards like ACE specs, VS Seeker and N, amongst others. Other cards with potential upside include stuff like SR Twin Energy and SR Triple Acceleration Energy, but that is HIGHLY speculative in that they require strong cards that depend on them to be released, if that doesn't happen they are borderline worthless. And obviously for the rich out there, you rarely go wrong with gems and beaches, but they already know that. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 12 Jul 2020 06:03 AM PDT I want to trade more of my spare cards; playsets of special energy, evolution chains for pokemon fans, stuff like that... But the Create Trade process is tedious and it's even worse to create a bunch of small trades at a time. A simple Clone Trade feature would be awesome to make creating duplicate trades for bundles of stuff easier... or for reposting your trade prior to it expiring. [link] [comments] |

Do mobile players get notifications about their trades when the game isn't active? Posted: 12 Jul 2020 06:08 AM PDT I'm assuming not, but can the app notify "trade completed"/"posting expired" when it isn't in focus? That would be a nice touch IMO. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Jul 2020 07:05 PM PDT I just tried green-smiling at someone and was told that a Moderator had Muted my account. Does anyone know how this happens and how to undo it? Nothing comes to mind that I did that should have caused this to happen. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Why did Rebel Clash value drop so drastically in the last 2 weeks? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 06:08 PM PDT Rebel Clash packs seemed like they lost almost half of their value at some point in the past 2 weeks. It looks like they bounced back slightly, but still not what they were. [link] [comments] |

Is there a reason to level past 16 besides for cosmetics? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 06:20 PM PDT I believe 16 (15?) is when you get access to tradeable pack challenges. I'm around the mid 20s and was wondering if there's a reason to purposely level up besides cosmetics. Does the chance of getting a rarer challenge for a specific type increases as you increase the type's level? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2020 10:02 AM PDT why are packs worth so much like I know only packs that are bought in the real world can be traded but why are they so common to see in the trade log [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Jul 2020 10:54 AM PDT So, question, has there ever been any like, sub support for ice types in a set? Like I know their part of the "water/blue" type, but has any set I dunno had some cards that thematically involved ice Pokemon? Also, as someone new to the game, has weather conditions, such as hail, ever been implemented? I imagine it would be a stadium or such. [link] [comments] |

Blacephalon GX attack question Posted: 11 Jul 2020 04:42 PM PDT Dumb question, sorry. But is Mind Blown cumulative? That is, for any energy sent to lost zone for prior attacks from different Blacephalons, will they count with new Mind Blown attacks? [link] [comments] |
