    Let's begin, as always, with what TCPi says about the Type:

    Colorless-type Pokémon have lots of different moves, and they work with any kind of deck.

    This is...fair, if uninformative. The Colorless type is the catch-all for effects. They can draw, mill, search, attach energy, or just about anything else, though how good they are at it depends on the card. The colorless cards that currently see play are predominately techs with useful abilities or attacks, rather than cards you can build an entire deck around.

    Part 1: Support

    There are no Colorless-exclusive support cards, barring the upcoming Powerful Energy, which lets Colorless Pokémon do 20 more damage against the opponent's Active Pokémon. Many Colorless decks run Fire Support for this reason, as mentioned in the previous guide.

    Part 2: Deck Spotlight - Salamence VMAX

    Today, we will be highlighting Salamence V, one of cards in the upcoming August set. As always, these spotlight decks are meant to be rough drafts that show off a Type. While we could run this deck with Fire Support, I've elected to showcase a different variant, which pairs Salamence V with a 2nd Colorless Pokémon: Porygon-Z. As always, these are meant to be drafts used as starting points.

    Pokémon (20)

    Our main attacker is Salamence VMAX, who, for four energy, deals 240 damage. That's actually 10 more than Reshiram & Charizard GX! Twin Sonic can pick up KOs on weakened Pokémon they try to have hide on the bench. It also can score a 2HKO on weak support Pokémon like opposing Galarian Zigzagoon, though there's a good chance they can play a Scoop Up Net to remove the damage.

    Cramorant V's purpose is primarily to bench snipe Dedenne GX. If the meta shifts away from Dedenne and towards Crobat V, you may want to swap out Cramorant.

    Dubwool V is a late-game attacker. After a Salamence VMAX is KO'd, Dubwool is doing 210 base damage, and it can deal 270 if the opponent is on their last prize, such as by KOing a Salamence V or Cramorant V.

    Zangoose is a tech attacker that allows you to pick up a 2HKO. Against opposing VMAX Pokémon, you're likely to need a 2nd hit to finish the job. Zangoose allows you to do that without leaving your 3-prize attacker in the active slot. This deck revolves around keeping your Salamence VMAX alive, and Zangoose can help with that. You need to be wary, though, as with Salamence VMAX, Cramorant V/Dubwool V, and Zangoose, the deck has attackers of every prize count. This means that opponents might be able to take a 'clean' six prizes, even without needing to use Boss's Orders. Just stay aware of how the opponent wants to win the game, and try to deny them the opportunity.

    Porygon-Z is the most important support Pokémon in the deck. Crazy Code provides you with infinite Energy acceleration and opens up combos. You almost never want to attack with Porygon, but Digicharge might be able to get you going after a bad start, and Tantrum could pick up a game-winning KO if none of your other attackers are available for some reason.

    Crobat V is your draw support over Dedenne, as you want the Energy-searching effect of Piers.

    Galarian Zigzagoon lets you pick up KOs you would otherwise miss. One ping and one Powerful Energy brings Salamence VMAX's damage to 270, picking up quite a few KOs it would otherwise miss.

    Trainer (30)

    The deck runs a straight lineup of standard supporters. You'll usually want Crobat V with Piers, but don't forget you can get Galarian Zigzagoon if you need that extra 10 damage to KO.

    Again, this is a standard lineup for searching out Pokémon. With multiple evolution lines, Evolution Incense is valuable, and Pokémon Communication lets us turn the 'wrong' searching card into the right one. If you really need to find a specific Pokémon, you can also use Pokémon Communication with the one you grab from Piers!

    With no Porygon2 in the deck, we need Rare Candy to get our Porygon-Z online. We run just 2 Switch because Salamence has a low retreat cost and we can attach any number of energy with Porygon-Z.

    Scoop Up Net allows Zigzagoon to deal additional damage to pick up KOs, but it can also let you pick them up to ditch with Pokémon Communication. With the deck needing field slots for Salamence, a back-up attacker, Porygon, and possibly a back-up Porygon, you may find yourself needing to use a Scoop Up Net on something to place down a Crobat V.

    • 4 Hyper Potion synergizes with Porygon-Z, allowing us to use Recycle Energy for no-cost healing that can turn 2HKOs into 3HKOs.

    Energy (10)

    • 4 Powerful Energy (Unreleased) boosts damage by 20. With two equipped, Salamence VMAX deals 280, which is even more than Eternatus VMAX! In the rare case you have all four, Salamence VMAX deals 320 damage, which is enough to knock out some opposing Pokémon VMAX.

    • 4 Recycle Energy is Porygon-Z's best friend. It allows us to pay our Retreat Cost or heal with Hyper Potion for no loss.

    • 2 Capture Energy allows us to get backup attackers and additional Porygon onto the field.

    Part 3: Other Colorless Cards

    Air Mail Pidgeotto is a decent support Pokémon, and it is available from theme decks! Unfortunately, it doesn't do well in budget decks, as you could just be running Green's Exploration, and it doesn't do well in non-budget decks, because you can have a bench of Jirachi, Dedenne, and Crobat. Due to the rotation, the Pidgeotto engine also loses access to Professor Elm's Lecture, which could search out 3 in any combination of Pidgey/Pidgeotto.

    Aerodactyl can deal 180 for a Triple Acceleration Energy, but requires you to not be running any Pokémon GX. You could pair this with Crobat V and still have a draw engine. With Crobat V, you can also run Piers, giving you access to a method of searching out Triple Acceleration Energy. And as Aerodactyl is a Stage 1 Pokémon, you don't need to worry about getting Rare Candy, meaning this deck can run more consistently than a lot of the others. It's likely to still fall short of meta though, as the single-prize decks we see in the meta are often from Basic Pokémon that can deal even more than 180 damage, such as Blacephalon or Spiritomb, both of which we've discussed in previous guides.

    Eevee & Snorlax GX can deal big damage for just colorless energy, but it caps at 240 and dies to the 270 threshold we see cards like Eternatus VMAX starting to hit. Megaton Friends GX seems like a strong effect, but as it happens at the end of the turn, you are left susceptible to Marnie or Reset Stamp.

    Persian sees play in some stall and control decks as a way to control the opponent's resources with Make 'Em Pay. The loss of Ditto Prism Star will make the card a bit weaker, but more important is the loss of Oranguru, which the entire deck was built around.

    Persian enables the Caturday archetype, but the Pokémon with Caturday are bad, so it doesn't matter. It's similar to the upcoming Bird Keeper archetype, except that Bird Keeper is at least a decent card by itself.

    Persian GX has a powerful effect, but it isn't seen in GX decks because it doesn't offer immediate value when played and requires evolving. That being said, getting any two cards you want is a powerful effect, so you may consider it if your deck runs a specific combo.

    Unfezant allows you to shuffle all cards attached to it and the opponent's active Pokémon into the deck. This can form a basis for an Energy denial deck. As the Triple Acceleration Energy you fuel it with is shuffled away, you don't have to worry about discarding them. Combined with Piers or Guzma & Hala, you can search out the energy every turn. You can also use Eldegoss V to recycle your supporters. To counter the opponent from simply charging up a benched Pokémon, you can run cards like Pokémon Catcher and Boss's Orders (if you have your Energy already in hand), bringing them up to the active slot prematurely. The deck struggles against decks that can power up in one turn, such as with Welder, and decks that can flood energy onto multiple Pokémon, like Dark Box.

    Slaking deals 200 damage, but is a Stage 2 that requires multiple energy attachments to attack, meaning it is not viable. You can technically power it up in one turn with Welder and Twin Energy, but it just isn't worth the investment.

    Kangaskhan is a single-prize Basic that can deal 250!! damage. Like Slaking, though, it requires multiple attachments, meaning it can't replace itself fast enough after dying. Additionally, you would need a board full of Tag Team Pokémon in play, and few decks run more than three.

    Lickitung is support for the "4 Retreat Cost" control deck, which can use cards like Buff Padding to gain health and Lickilicky to control the opponent's hand and field. The biggest downside to this deck is the existence of Absol in the meta to deal with Escape Board Jirachi, which will make their Basic Pokémon's retreat costs no longer exactly four.

    Moltres & Articuno & Zapdos GX is a card that exists, and it has very nice art, but the need for three different type of energy simply makes it very difficult to work with. You can do better things with 4 Energy than a vanilla 210 damage (e.g. Charizard & Reshiram's Flare Strike for 230), and you can do better things with your GX attack than a 3-Pokémon 110 ping (e.g. Alolan Sandslash GX hitting all Pokémon with damage counters for 100).

    Silvally GX's Disk Reload lets you draw up to 5 cards once per turn. As a Basic, this card would see play in every deck--being reusable makes it better than Crobat V, even if Crobat lets you draw up to six. The issue with needing to evolve is simply doubling the burden of deck slots (Type: Null being a card with no value, unlike Piers which can get Energy with the Crobat). If you choose not to run multiple copies, though, you end up with your support engine being prized. Overall, I think this is a card that could see success, but just hasn't had the perfect archetype to go with it. You may consider pairing it in a deck that already runs Evolution cards--VMAX cards can benefit from the upcoming Chairman Rose, which lets you accelerate two energy from the discard pile at the cost of discarding your hand afterwards. Going down to zero cards woudl then let Silvally GX draw you five new cards. Silvally-GX also has Grass Memory and Water Memory, allowing it to change type and hit specific cards for Super-Effect Damage. Brave Buddies deals a modest 120, but at 240 due to weakness, it could pick up a KO on an unevolved Pokémon V.

    Bewear lowers your Pokémon's retreat costs, but is an evolution and takes up a slot on your bench. Cards like Switch and Scoop Up Net are generally more effective at letting you get the Pokémon in that you want, especially considering their ability to bypass Paralysis or Sleep.

    Mega Lopunny & Jigglypuff GX sees some play as a tech card in Mewtwo & Mew GX decks. Jumping Balloon can pick up a KO against a PikaRom player that overextends, or a deck that plays a lot of Dedenne, but it requires the opponent to play into it. Puffy Smashers is alright, too, as a 200 snipe is good for picking up prizes, but the card itself isn't strong enough by itself to be a deck's entire strategy.

    Snorlax VMAX is another Do The Wave attacker, but it deals less max damage than Eternatus VMAX and needs more energy to attack. The card is better in Expanded, where Sky Field lets it boost its damage, but Expanded also houses a wide variety of very powerful decks. That said, Snorlax can power up in one turn with Welder or Triple Acceleration Energy, and has an easier time hitting 210 than Eternatus does, needing only five benched Pokémon instead of six. The difference between 210 and 270 is a big one, as 270 is a threshold HP number for Tag Team GX Pokémon, such as Reshiram & Charizard GX.

    Cinccino's Make Do ability is very powerful. Newer players may be surprised to learn that Zoroark GX, whose ability Trade works the same way, was a staple card run in many decks before it rotated out. Cinccino, despite being a 1-prize card, sees much less play than Zoroark GX did in its prime, a testament to the increased speed of the game. That being said, if you can slow down the game, the card's ability to tear through the deck with multiple copies will become clear. For that reason, it sees play as a 4-of in mill and control decks.

    Oranguru is a card that sees play in several decks. If you can stack the deck, like with Mind Report Mewtwo, you can draw into exactly the card you want. Failing that, it still lets you dig for a card if you really need to find an out to your situation. Additionally, the ability to put a card on top of your deck also enables you to safeguard one card from an opposing Marnie or to activate the effect of an attack like Magmortar.

    Greedent lets you search out any Tool card, and it lets you do it every turn. If your deck runs several different tools, or four copies of a specific tool that you need to get out, you may consider Greedent! The downside, as we see quite often, is the "Stage 1" text up on the top left of the card. If the deck you're building is reliant enough on tools to overlook that, you'll probably know, but you should also consider cards like Guzma & Hala, which also search for tools and is searchable by Tag Call.

    Starly (Unreleased) and Swanna (Unreleased) share the Sky Circus ability, which lets them attack for free if you played Bird Keeper as your Supporter this turn. Bird Keeper is not a bad card, and these are decent attacks on single-prize attackers, making it overall feel like a balanced deck. Unfortunately, balanced decks are mitigated to lower tiers, as they can't compete with the "broken" cards that they release alongside. There's also a Rowlet (Unreleased) with the same ability.

    Part 4: Conclusion

    Due to their role as generic Pokémon, Colorless is a type that gets few dedicated decks, making Salamence VMAX exciting simply by existing as a powerful Colorless attacker. Colorless Pokémon have gotten support before, like the non-Standard Aspertia City Gym and Winona. Perhaps we'll get more cards like them in the future.

    Blastoise-GX deck test and suggestions

    I've been working on this Blastoise deck for a little while and I think I have it at a good spot after swapping out some trainers. If anyones willing I'd like some people to test it out and give some suggestions on what would be changed. I'm sure it's not a new idea by any means but it's been a lot of fun trying to get it to work.

    The first thing is, Bills Analysis is more or less the front runner of how it works. More draw cards was actually making it a lot less consistent since the singular focus in the early game is having a PipStoise and a baby Blastoise out using Analysis and Jirachi. Tank with the tag team for as long as you need to, healing yourself with in-hand energy and then transition into Blastoise GX for big knockouts. Baby blastoise, especially 2 out at once, enables big 400 damage hits every turn.

    HOT TAKE: Shaymin ex shouldn't be banned and neither should scoop up net

    I swear, every expanded post just devolves into "Shaymin is dumb, plz ban". Even worse, with scoop up net now out I see the complaints are out in full force. The thing is, Shaymin scoop up net is a cool powerful combo, and whenever one of those pops up everyone calls for banned.

    The thing is, it's not that bad. It's super exploitable. In this post I'll go over the main complaints and prove it's not bad.

    1). It's boring to watch a huge turn 1. Sure, it can be boring. But after the first turn it should be super fast. The deck is so thin they should be able to know what they need to do and just do it every turn after. The turns are super short and overall games are much shorter than standard.

    2). Donk I get it, it's boring to watch. If you see the typing and think it's donk, there's a few things you can do. The first is go first, half the time they're just trying to burn through the ladder and will just scoop. The second is bench everything in your hand, especially big things. They burn so many resources that most of the time they can only take one big knockout. If they don't think they can do that they'll just scoop and you win. The third is just accept it. Get a snack and hope they miss what they need and then load a new game.

    As for the exploits, it's only 110 hp. You so much as look at it wrong it's knocked out. If they scoop it up, pokepuff it back down. In the discard? Target whistle it back, gust knock it out. Each time you do it's just easy prizes.

    Scoop up net is just such a cool card, banning it should be such a shame. It has such cool synergy with phantom forces crobat and others that I feel banning it just shuts down so many cool creative decks.

    Banning cards isn't something that should be taken lightly because "it's annoying" . Most decks can take advantage of it and only provides advantage to the player, unlike most of the banned cards which essentially screw the other player before they can take a turn.

    I don't spend any money on the game but I play a lot. Earlier on I traded all the cards in my budget decks and bought a pikarom deck, then I heard pikarom wouldn't be top tier post rotation, so I traded all my cards for a zacian adp deck, but zacian adp is not doing that great right now and it's not as fun as pikarom. I wanna play pikarom right now but I fear the cards of pikarom will become worthless and I won't be able to play with any top tier deck post rotation. I have 7000 coins and 80 tickets so I could get some packs if I need to. I just wanna know if I could switch back and play with pikarom for now and still be able to trade for whatever top tier deck there is post rotation.or should I play it safe and stick with Zacian ADP

    Hidden Fates

    Fire disruption deck

    I just built the deck this afternoon just out of curiosity to see if I could get consistent disruption with Torkoal V's attack Steam Crush that discards 2 energy from the opponents active for (f)(f)(f)(c). Along with crushing hammer I think the deck could delay the opponents attack or use it against them with Ninetales V. I haven't played many games with it so I'm curious what could be improved.

    -how should I spend my money? (I have a few themed decks that I like, shall I buy booster packs? Wich ones?)

    -What shall I do with my "tradeable" booster packs from previous seasons?

    I recently got into this game with the League Battle decks and plenty of studying, and I am absolutely livid.

    Apparently it's not bad enough that one of the top decks right now discards the opponent's hand, bricks their active Pokemon, then literally just stalls indefinitely until the opponent decks out, without ever actually playing the game. Then after that I get matched up against a deck that uses Sturdy Donphan with healing items, and Ear-Ringing Bells just in case. Again, this deck does absolutely nothing but stall infinitely. There are so many ways to stall infinitely, and so few ways to stop this due to the game's restrictive mechanics.

    Why do people play these decks? Do the card designers not test anything? And how am I supposed to stop them?

    I have played through decades of degenerate Yugioh formats, and not one of them has ever been anywhere near as infuriating as this game. When these are the opponents I have to play against, it is immediately clear that not even Pokemon TCG players want new players joining their game.

    Estimated Price of Gem Regirock

    I'm looking to get a playset of Gem Celebi and I wanna use my Regirock to get them. However, the price guide says that they're worth about 0.25 to 0.5 beaches each which would put them into the price range of 137 to 275 packs based off the lowest available beach price of 550 (price guide). However, the last time I heard Regirock's price it was 110 packs, so I don't know what it is truly worth. What are your guesses?

    I'm also assuming each gem celebi will be about 50 packs each based off the price guide.
