| Best/Super Fun New(er) Theme Decks Posted: 05 Jan 2021 06:32 PM PST Hello all, I am just returning to PCTGO after a 6month+ break. I love theme deck tournaments/events, mostly because I play on and off and don't have a real collection. Last time I played Relentless Flame was King of the Hill (and the most recent theme deck), since then, I see many new theme decks have come out. Unfortunately, none of these are rated in the sidebar posts or anywhere else I can find. Can I please get your opinions on: Looking for: Fun to play + also competitive decks within the theme deck meta. it doesn't have to be the best, but if it can sometime steal games off the best and is fun to play... that'll do just fine. | Posted: 05 Jan 2021 02:28 PM PST I saw a trade offering 2 Crobat V plus 4 boltund V for a 5 card XY phantom forces pack. I wanted to do this, so I traded away my one and only Crobat V for a 5 card XY phantom forces pack. However, the game now won't let me trade that pack for the huge value trade, it says it's a different 5 card pack. Did I do something wrong? Edit: looks like I did. There are two separate identical 5 card packs with no visible way to differentiate between them. I have no idea why the game does this. One is far more valuable than the other. Wtf. Playing control isn't about the small advantages you slowly grind, or the long game, but destroying your opponents body and soul ever so slowly. Also feels nice to beat adp. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 05 Jan 2021 11:51 AM PST Hi all I'm due to play in my first ever tournament on Saturday (started pokemon over lockdown), and have decided I'm going to play Mewtwo/Mew as it's the deck I've seen the most success with - I've seen Pikarom/electric variants running around but I really dislike Pikarom, so have made the decision to not play it and go for a more "pure" build, if you can call it that. I was wondering if the pro players here would be able to help me with some advice to make the deck better/more consistent? I'll do a bit of an explanation on some of the choices just so you all can see the logic I'm working with, and what I'm going for: Latios-GX is mainly here for the ADP match up to get ahead of Altered Creation, and make that match up a bit more fair. It also allows MewThree to use Tag Purge, which is good protection against tag team decks. Muk/Alolan Muk is here as a counter to Decidueye/Altaria decks that cannot be damaged by GX pokes (My thinking is that the poison doesn't count as attack damage, so would work around the protection? Correct me if I'm wrong) The rest of the pokes are pretty standard for Mewthree decks, at least the ones I've seen. The majority of the trainers have been put in for consistency so that I can be confident I will be able to find what I need, and I'm happy with the energy ratios. Any ideas?
