Friday, Mar. 5, 2021 09:45 PST (17:45 UTC) - Sword & Shield—Battle Styles booster pack and Evolution Pack packaging becomes visible in the game. 10:00 PST (18:00 UTC) - Code cards from Sword & Shield—Battle Styles booster packs and Evolution Packs can be redeemed, but the items received will be time-locked until Mar. 18, 2021. Thursday, Mar. 18, 2021 09:45 PDT (16:45 UTC) - Sword & Shield—Battle Styles expansion cards, blister promo cards, Evolution Pack promo cards, and Elite Trainer Box sleeves and deck boxes become visible in the game. If you are logged in when these items become visible in the game you may need to log out and back in to the client before they appear for you. 10:00 PDT (17:00 UTC) - The time-lock on Sword & Shield—Battle Styles booster packs and Evolution Packs expires, and these items can be opened. Battle styles Price Prediction Guide Posted: 10 Mar 2021 07:51 AM PST A veteran trader here. A couple of weeks ago I posted this https://www.reddit.com/r/ptcgo/comments/llvlb2/shining_fates_price_predictions/ To help people prepare for Shining Fates. Seeing I got 90% correct (before my edits, should've stuck with my gut feeling), I decided to do it once more to help newbies prepare for Battlestyles. Before going into anything deeper I'm gonna give a few basic advice to everyone What should you do a week before the expansion 1. Trade all your currency packs (packs meant for trading) into staple FA Supporters or SR items / energies. Atm FA Boss orders, FA Marnie, SR Quickball and SR energies are your safest investment. Optional: 2 . Study the upcoming cards and stay updated with the Japanese meta At the beginning of every new expansion here are some tips to keep you on top the market... If you have the codes, trade them for staple FA Supporters or SR items / energies. WHY? Because pack value is very inflated at the beginning of the expansion. If you trade your packs at this season, you will gain more packs in the long run as value goes down. If you don't have the codes, don't trade for anything. Because you will be paying essentially 3-5x the price of what it should be. Grind the standard tournaments baby!! You will get twice the amount of battlestyles pack than usual. Don't worry about not having the newer cards because they aren't legal in the tournament during the first 2 weeks. Now that's out of the way before we proceed to the actual price prediction here are facts about the set. Battlestyles is one of the more competitive sets we have so far. 4 new competitive decks is expected arise. Victini Vmax, Corviknight Vmax, single and rapid strike Urshifu Vmax. Now lets have our analysis and prediction. We will follow the current shf:Vivid Ratio of (1:3) and use ptcgoprices.com as our guide. Because of its competitiveness the Battle Styles currency will slowly adapt the following value Battle Styles (1) Shining Fates (1.25) Vivid voltage (0.5) Darkness Ablaze (0.75) Rebel Clash (0.75) SWSH Base (0.75) Obvious Drops. Because of their innate weakness to fighting decks, Pikarom and Eternatus Vmax will have a harder time to perform well. Pikarom: 6 vivid ---> 3 BS Boltund V: 12 vivid ---> 6 BS Eternatus V: 6 vivid ---> 3 BS Eternatus Vmax: 15 vivid ---> 8 BS Obvious increases. Because of their innate strength towards fighting decks and having their biggest weakness being countered, Dragapult Vmax will see a resurgence. Also Mew3 will be more utilized to cover against fighting decks. Jirachi-gx will also see some play in fighting decks to cover vs psychic. Dragapult V: 5 Vivid ---> 8 BS Dragapult Vmax: 15 Vivid ---> 9 BS Mew3: 33 Vivid ---> 20 BS Jirachi-Gx: 2 Vivid ---> 2 BS SWSH Victini V: 6 vivid ---> 4 BS Probable increases. Along with the rise and fall of certain decks here are some cards that will probably increase in value Bench barrier Mew: 2 vivid ---> 2 BS Zacian V: 10 Vivid ---> 8 BS Zamazenta V: 2 Vivid ---> 2 BS LucMetal: 9 Vivid ---> 6 BS Probable drops. Along with the rise and fall of certain decks here are some cards that will probably drop in value Dedenne-Gx: 7 vivid ---> 3 BS Crobat V: 18 vivid ---> 12 BS* Centi Vmax: 15 Vivid ---> 6 BS Blacephalon: 3 vivid ---> 1 BS ADP: 18 Vivid ---> 8 BS ​ *Crobat V and similar cards with the same schtick (dedenne-gx, tapu lele-gx, shaymin-ex, etc) are always a special case, because cards like these are most of the time, above any pack value, their values tend to override any pack ratios because of their high demand. So although in paper it's a price increase for Crobat V, it's actually a price decrease. So obviously, it's wise to sell off losing cards before BS comes and start buying increasing value cards before the price goes higher. So far these are what I can see are the price changes of the existing cards that we are playing with today. Take this post with a grain of salt as this is just my predictions based on my years of experience flipping trades in the ptcgo market. Battle Styles Rulings Questions Posted: 09 Mar 2021 11:49 AM PST If one player starts the game with Wobuffet (Bide Baricade) and the other starts Empoleon V, what happens? Are all psychic abilities turned off? or are the first player's non rule box basics turned off?
