TIL you can save your opponent's deck Posted: 15 Apr 2021 11:08 PM PDT I'm pretty new to the online game, so this may be common knowledge, but I thought it was cool and it wasn't exactly pointed out by any in-game tips. How to do it:

New player here, some questions: Posted: 16 Apr 2021 07:06 AM PDT Hello! I'm a long time pokemon (videogames) player, played some TCG when I was a kid and I just downloaded the TCGO. I've always followed new set releases and new cards and I'm really fond of Butterfree RCL and its evolutionary line, is there a standard deck that supports the first turn full evolution? Also, how do I get the cards online? packs? trades? Thanks in advance!! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Apr 2021 06:54 AM PDT Hi, I've been getting into ptcgo after watching Ben Wheeler's stream recently, and there's lots of cool decks I'd wanna try. However from what I've been able to see on youtube and such, you need to manually trade for every single card. Which then leads me to ask, is it normal for people to trade full decks / almost complete decks? Of course trading in-game packs for it. The main point being I just want to play some cool expanded decks without having to spend a ton of time trading for it. Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments] |
Never mash concede until you know it's over! Posted: 15 Apr 2021 03:10 PM PDT I was playing a GengarMimikyu deck against ReshiZard. We both had 3 prizes left and I hit his ReshiZard for 250 with Poltergeist. I figured the game was over so I started mashing concede, but I forgot I had a horror energy attached so we both KO'd each other. The second we entered sudden death, it said I conceded because I was mashing it beforehand. So close!! [link] [comments] |

Tell me your favorite Pokémon badly and I’ll possibly DM you a code card :) Posted: 15 Apr 2021 02:20 PM PDT I have about 10 codes to give away. Tell me your favorite Pokémon badly (Example: yellow rat with pepperoni cheeks) and I'll try and send a code through DMs. Please don't DM me if you don't get one, they're limited and I only have so many! EDIT: I'm all out but feel free to contribute, these are hilarious! [link] [comments] |
SS>RF... everyone agrees right? I used to, but not anymore. Explain why I'm wrong Posted: 16 Apr 2021 04:51 AM PDT preface: I've watched 5-10 YouTube vids & read a bunch of posts in this sub on how to play SS, but still... I've played SS vs RF probably 100x and lost 75% Charizard, nidoqueen, and even rapidash can 1HKO them In contrast, SS only has 1 poke that can 1hko charizard & nidoqueen. So tornadus, thunderus, lantern, all need 2 turns vs zard & queen... and they don't last past 1 turn If both teams can setup, RF will win every time. Beating RF is dependent on getting thundurus & tornadus out fast, and dealing 20-40 damage to queen & zard on the opponents bench, so they can be taken out by someone else later. I don't see how it's a better deck? You have to hope u draw better the first 2-3 turns, and hope they don't setup their team. Ppl will say energy acceleration but zard has that too. And both can re-shuffle discards. Oh, and rapidash can take out anyone, at any time, with a few heads in a row. So there's that too... For anyone that doesn't know, here's the HP: thundurus 120 [link] [comments] |
How do you knock out V/Vmax/Tag Team GX cards with Stage 2 Pokemon? Posted: 15 Apr 2021 08:48 PM PDT I'm trying to play decks that have Stage 2 Pokemon but it just feels like I can't get set up before the Coalossal Vmax with 380 health with Buff Padding knocks out my basic Pokemon with 60 health before I can even start evolving. The game just feels over at turn 2. I don't really know what to do. I hate V, GX, and Vmax cards and anything meta and just want to play with all the cool new evolution cards that keep being printed. But why does it feel so pointless? I mean why does Pokemon print these cards if they can't even be used? As a newer player I just don't get why cards are allowed to do 240 damage every turn when my Pokemon have at most 160 health and need 1-2 turns to be on the field. I include rare candies and evo incenses but even then it takes around 3-4 turns to be set up, and that's if I get decent hands. I get that some things have to be strong, but why does that mean other things have to be so weak as to be almost unplayable? Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way, but this is just what's been on my mind in my shortish time playing the game. I love the concept, the cards, and the gameplay loop, but hate the meta and the power creep. [link] [comments] |

Tyranitar, Bronzong, and Zacian V Deck Posted: 15 Apr 2021 05:49 PM PDT Totally unconventional, and probably not capable of winning against upper tier decks without some luck, but I like the idea. Right now it feels a little clunky and inconsistent—and the 4 energy cost on my main attacker is brutal if he gets knocked out. Any suggestions? ****** Pokémon Trading Card Game Deck List ****** Pokémon - 17

Fairy type daily challenges using theme decks Posted: 15 Apr 2021 02:20 PM PDT I tried using the Xerneas theme deck, however the challenge requiring you to K.O. 12 Pokémon feels like a huge grind where I just hope to open up with Xerneas and pray it doesn't get knocked out while I'm setting up as well as my opponent not having any beefy 110+ HP Pokémon by the time I'm ready to fire off it's attack. Even then it usually only nets 1 or 2 K.O.'s before it gets knocked out itself or I run out of energy to maintain it's cost. Looking through the other theme decks I only found the Necrozma deck to have any fairy types whatsoever and it merely has a couple Dedenne which will most likely not cut it either. Did I overlook something there? Is it best to simply not take or discard any fairy type challenges until I'm ready to build a deck around fairies myself? EDIT: Thanks for the suggestion everyone! I just read fairy type is not going to get new cards in the future. Hopefully PTCGO will get updated by then so new players won't have to struggle using outdated theme decks to complete these challenges. Maybe remove fairy type challenges entirely [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Apr 2021 04:14 PM PDT Hello, newer player here needing some help making a Stage 2 Deck work in standard. I have a hard time setting up against Vmax decks and other multi-prizers. I like the Deep Sea Kingdra from battle styles and it feels like the only time I can get set up is vs other evolution decks. Why is the meta this way? Why can't more stage 2 and evolution pokemon be used? It's just disappointing because these V and Vmax cards can get set up so quickly and they can do 150+ damage every turn with 3 or so energy and Kingdra only has 150 HP. That is if I can even get a Kingdra out on the field. Sometimes they just start knocking out the earlier evolutions and then it just feels so difficult to come back. I get that they are worth more prizes but 300+ HP feels so hard to take down by non-V/Vmax/GX cards. Are there any cards that can accelerate water type evolution like Turrfield Stadium does for grass types? Also, some of the supporters I've just been swapping for others in and out trying to find what's more consistent. That's why there's things like Nessa (which I'm considering putting more of) and Poke Kid (which probably isn't that great). I was considering using Sonia or Pokemon Breeder's Nurturing as well. I'd like to make this deck work so any recommendations would be helpful! Posted: 15 Apr 2021 08:00 PM PDT A new tool coming in our June set where if the opponent attacks you pick ANY energy return it to the hand. So they basically are forced to keep powering up the same Pokémon if they want to keep attacking Plus if you play something like inteleon vmax or hammers or grunt your basically not attacking at all next turn. Decks that are poor at accelerating like dragapult vmax is going to have a miserable time [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Apr 2021 01:49 PM PDT I haven't played in a while, and I'm not sure which cards I need to get. Which staples do you think I should look for? I have 35 BS packs. I already have 2 Crobats V, 2 Dedenne GX and 2 Eldegoss V. [link] [comments] |
What decks are you going to play for Players Cup 4? Posted: 15 Apr 2021 09:24 AM PDT RS Urshifu is probably my favorite meta deck right now, but i don't really know which build i prefer yet. Maybe some kind of Mew3 deck and Pikarom is always an option too. [link] [comments] |
Should I sell my first edition pikachu on ebay? Posted: 15 Apr 2021 11:58 PM PDT I heard on ebay those things go for around 500 dollars and its not like im gonna be doing anything with the older cards from the 90s that one of my family members gave me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Apr 2021 08:07 AM PDT In a couple of games now my opponent plays Jesse and James. I discard 2. Then they discard 2. Then I have to discard again. The first game they made me discard 2 additional cards for a total of 4. Second time it was just 1 additional card... both times I had a marnie/korrina so I was mostly unaffected and still got the dub, but .. Does anyone know about or have encountered this bug? Are they hacking somehow? Am I crazy missing something? For the life of me can't figure out what happened ... [link] [comments] |
