| Is buying individual card codes on eBay legit? Posted: 09 Sep 2020 09:28 PM PDT I'm new to the game and want to build the decidueye/obstagoon deck. One of the trainer cards I noticed that I'll need is scoop up net. I saw on eBay here that the individual card code is being sold. Is this legit? I thought the codes you could use were only for packs. Does each card have an individual code? Also any advice for collecting all the decidueye/obstagoon cards for the deck? I'm thinking purchase the pikachu/zekrom deck code to get the Jirachi cards. Maybe trade some packs in game to get the decidueye cards [link] [comments] |

What's the most efficient way to do that? I've tried googling it, but I'm kinda confused on what's still effective post rotation for a good standard collection. Currently, I have the Charizard theme deck purchased with tokens, and the Charizard Reshiram battle deck I got from PTCGOStore. What else should I purchase? Because I know that I'm saving time and frustration by instantly conceding against ADPZ or Ultra Necrozma decks, but I wonder if at any point they would even be willing to say that, because so many people refuse to play against those decks, they would have to make some change to the mechanics. | Posted: 09 Sep 2020 08:18 PM PDT I recorded 16 games like an NFL regular season style and these were my results so far: Unseen Depths (10-6): Won against: Relentless Flame x3, Soaring Storm, Towering Heights, Dark Hammer, Rillaboom, Blazing Volcano, Storm Caller, Zamazenta Lost against: Zacian (bricked hard), Laser Focus x2 (Necrozma is too good), Soaring Storm, Towering Heights Pros of this deck:- Empoleon snipe is OP and bubble hold very useful- Phione can be a game-changer- Ambipom is useful Cons- Low damage overall- Terrible early game- Bad matchup vs Soaring Storm & Laser Focus- Hard to get Empoleon out- When it sucks, it sucks bad Towering Heights (11-5) should have been 12-4 but I switched to no-energy Groudon instead of 1-energy Palpitoad and lost Pros:- Once you get rolling, you're basically set- Lots of damage (Throh, Seismitoad is hard to build, Groudon) Cons:- Weak drawing power without Passimian- Slow energy buildup- Can be hard to set up damage counters for Throh Rillaboom incomplete (0-2) Lost to: Soaring Storm (per usual), Rillaboom Pros- High damage (Maractus) Cons- High energy consumption- Eldegoss and Whimsicott output little damage [link] [comments] |
| New player looking for competitive play. Posted: 09 Sep 2020 05:08 PM PDT Hey all I just got started into pokemon tcg after not having played in probably fifteen years. I have a lot of experience and some nice results in competitive magic tournaments. Sadly I am growing a bit bored with that game (formats have been pretty bad recently) so I have been dabbling into pokemon for a couple of days. Is there any sort of track to premier level play or some kind of tournaments to play online? I have been playing versus matches with the Jack Millar list that won the players cup but so far competition hasn't been incredibly stiff. I think I am somewhere around 25-3 having just started. Will I eventually start matching with more competitive opponents maybe because of a hidden rating or something? Are the 8 man tournaments more difficult and can I farm the tickets for them somehow? Have not tried one yet cause I don't quite understand the tickets and how I can get more if I need them. Thanks for all the help have to say it's been nice learning a new game and some of the nuance of it. I had a pretty poor outlook on the game having come from magic. I expected a lot more randomness but I am pleased with the amount of different lines of play I am still finding. [link] [comments] |
