    Eternatus VMax and energy denial

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 01:30 AM PDT

So, I finally built an Eternatus VMax deck, but I'm not really sure what to do with it. I mean, there are actually lots of different options, and I'm still testing it.

I think I've confirmed something I already suspected when I previously faced the deck: it's really weak to energy denial -and Wondrous Labyrinth. Yes, it only needs two energies to attack, but they're slow, manual attachments -and most lists don't play much energies per se. I sometimes struggle to have the two energies attached for turn 2. And more so if there is energy denial.

I just faced a Centiskorch V deck that failed to have a good start. But my opponent just kept spamming the V attack that discards energy, and that slowed me down a lot. I also faced a Torkoal V deck against which I conceded when they gusted my VMax in with Giovanni to discard my two energies at once.

I'm actually using a 1-1 line of Weavile-GX. Combining it with the Hide Darkness Energy and Air Ballon, I retire damaged Eternatus and bring another attacker after moving energies to it. I'm considering going for a thicker Weavile line, along with Red and Blue.

There is also Rose and Turbo Patch. But the first might force me to run Rose Tower, and I'm not sure the second one is a good choice for Eternatus decks.

So, how do you deal with energy denial? Some deck ideas in general would also be great. What do you play?

Thanks for sharing your opinons :)

Help Building/ Modifying Decidueye Obstagoon from the Players Cup

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 09:01 AM PDT

I am a pretty new player, and have been playing a lot of Green's Reshizard on the ladder, and I think I want to build a second deck, and figured another good cheap one to build would be Decidueye Obstagoon, especially with how much I have been playing against Eternatus, and ADP. I went to limitlessTCG and found the 9th place deck from the players cup (posted at end of post), and I was wondering about the Rosas in the deck.

Rosa seems to be a pretty expensive supporter as far as packs per card (was running about 5 per card on ptcgoprices.com), and I am already going to be spending 20-24 packs on Jirachis. Is Rosa worth picking up for this list, and if I weren't going to be running Rosa, who would be a good replacement supporter/ card. I was thinking of maybe adding great catcher, or boss's orders for some gusting, but I don't know how useful those would be with how much spread damage I will be doing to the bench anyways.

Any help is appreciated, and feel free to throw out other change suggestions if you have them (again, I did not build this deck, I am just trying to use it as a stepping off point for my own Decidueye Obstagoon deck).

    Is Salamence VMax worth it?

    Posted: 08 Sep 2020 02:35 AM PDT

Sorry if this counts as a show off but thats not the point of the post...

This week I just got back into tcgo after a 2 year break. This morning I somehow pulled back to back Salamence VMax untradables. I've seen a lot of people using Sal V but not many Max's.

Is the card good enough to justify me getting some salamence V's and building a deck around them?

How does Glimwood Tangle interact with Stage 2 Rebel Clash Dragapult #091/192 ?

    Posted: 07 Sep 2020 05:19 PM PDT

I was wondering on how does the stadium interact with the coin flip ability:"Infiltrator" If any damage is done to this Pokémon by attacks, flip a coin. If heads, prevent that damage.

For example if my dragapult flips heads and prevents the damage, can my opponent force another coin flip? Also if I get tails may I flip again using the stadium's ability? Or does the stadium not interact at all with this Dragapult card given that it's not my turn?

Legacy: so gensect can hit my bench even if I have bench barrier?

This seems like a bug to me. I just made my first couple of legacy decks so I'm kinda new to the format.

New Player. What's the perfect balance between Energy, Pokemon and Trainers

    Posted: 07 Sep 2020 05:08 PM PDT

I'm not sure if this is just an issue with the RNG but i've been playing theme decks against other players lately and half the time I keep drawing all Pokemon or all Energies. Last night I was in a game against someone and I just kept drawing a pokemon. Then today when I needed pokemon for my bench I kept getting more and more energies on every draw.

Which theme deck is favorable against the Soaring Skies deck in theme? (Advice Welcomed)

    Posted: 07 Sep 2020 06:32 PM PDT

What theme deck do you guys think is the most favorable against the Soaring Storm deck? I am currently just playing in theme ladder/tournament as a beginner with Rillaboom/Towering Heights and have been running into a lot of Soaring Storm and have been having difficulties dealing with it.

If anyone has any suggestions on trying another theme deck or giving advice to deal with Soaring Storm, I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: Sorry for the title error.

Do you think that the Shedinja being released in Shocking Volt Tackle could be part of a viable deck?

    Posted: 07 Sep 2020 02:27 PM PDT

Shedinja can only be played from deck when a nincada is evolved into the ninjask from the same set. Its attack is 3 colorless and it places damage counters until the opponent is at 10hp. Do you think this could work as a win condition with something like shrine of punishment, unbroken bonds weezing, or zigzagoon or is it just too inconsistent?

    A trainer searcher in standard

    Posted: 07 Sep 2020 02:15 PM PDT

I was trying to accelerate the game in standard a little, it's so boring in the beginning. I need something to search for supports, something like tapu lele GX in expanded. Does that exist?

I know there is misty's something that searches for 3 supports, and there is the skyla that searches for a trainer, but those take a lot of time, and you can't even search them quickly (opposed to quick ball). Even the magneton is stage 1 and takes the same time and effort to get out than what I originally wanted to do.
