I got up to 25 wins in Versus. Do you get a reward for winning anything past 12?

Finally got enough packs to trade for Crobat, then wanted to try my luck one last time with a purchased pack. Then this happened :D

My deck teleports from Standard to Unlimited

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 08:16 AM PST

I have a deck that sometimes moves itself to unlimited. However it has a Standard layout. The only thing I changed were two cards from holo to full art.

What happens is, I play a game in standard (or a few) and suddenly it's not eligible anymore and sits in Unlimited. I then copy the deck and the copy appears in Standard again. Then after a game or two the same thing happens to the copy. I keep needing to copy the deck to be able to play with it.

Does anyone know what causes this?

    New Format like Legacy

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 08:06 AM PST

I'd propose a new format, similar to legacy, but instead of being hgss and bw, it would be XY and bw. Personally I think those were the best days of ptcgo, when XY and bw were the only formats in expanded, and haven't played much since SM. Is it just me or would anyone actually want to play this?

You ever been donked in a tournament?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 01:42 AM PST

I was playing a tournament tonight with the new Dreadnaw theme deck. Won the first round very easily against unseen depths. I go into the second round and am up against that Blastoise theme deck. I decide to go first and just end up with Wishiwashi as my only basic. Draw an energy. But wait, I have a great ball! All evolution Pokémon. My opponent finds their Pidgeoto. I topdeck an energy. Get hit for 30 next turn. Feels bad because I barely have time to play tournaments.

I feel like expended has become much more interesting than standard or maybe it's just a phase. Any more fun decks idea :)?

Which supporter is generally better for drawing cards? Also please explain why in comments.

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 05:23 AM PST

I'm new to PTCGO and I'm trying to put up fair trades that will be completed and not just time out lol. But I was wondering how do you guys determine how many packs a certain card is worth and stuff like that? Thanks in advance!

How to get back into the game

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 06:14 PM PST

Hey guys I used to be a fairly active player from the XY era and I just downloaded this game again. I stopped playing ever since breaks came out so I'm not sure how to get back on my feet. I have plenty of older ex's but I'm not sure how viable they are even in expanded. Any advice?

I'm still fairly new to the TCG game, as I started online in May. I've been wanting to try my hand at making a Gengar deck to use, as it is my all time favorite Pokemon. I decided on running a Gengar / Weezing deck that focuses on adding damage counters to overwhelm. Can anyone recommend cards?

Need help finding a trainer card

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 07:16 PM PST

My apologies if this is an inappropriate post.

I play standard decks online. Within the last few days I'm noticing a lot of people using Flame decks that make heavy use of the Welder supporter card--a very powerful card, indeed, and one that's been nearly impossible to beat with my Grass-type deck.

I had developed a plan to adjust to this, but last night I faced a new twist: a few people played a trainer card that made it so every time I attached an energy to my Pokemon, they incurred 20 damage points.

I should have made note of this card, but I was too busy trying (and failing) to respond to it. Can anyone please tell me what the card might be? It would be something that was allowable in current standard format, so it's not too old.

    new to tcg..

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 07:15 PM PST

ok, so is it safe to assume that the currency for the game for trades, tends to go to the latest set? Just wondering what to do with the small amount of rebel clash codes i have (also have a booster box coming...oops) and if its worth to just pull them and trade the best cards i dont use for vivid voltage packs.

Rebel clash was the only set i could get that was in stock when i picked up the game a week or so ago, so decided to start collecting that set..pokemon tcg isnt a thing in my area, so all competitve play would be done online.

any advice would be great thanks.

It's prices seem legit but I'm still skeptical. Anybody go through them before?

    Trade rates and Drop rates

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 08:31 PM PST

Wanted to create an ADP deck, but I don't have any ADP's. The trade rates for ADP's are very high though. I currently have 15 unopened Cosmic Eclipse packs and was wondering the Drop rates for ADP's, and if opening them would probably get me more ADP's compared to trading them.

    Least viable deck type

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 11:41 PM PST

I recently pulled a tonne of cool grass types, a couple of Zarude V, Orbeetle V, Dhelmise V, Butterfree V, Genesect, Shaymin, plus a couple of the Celebi & Venusaur tag cards from the ladder a few months back. So I put them all into what I thought would be a half decent deck.

The trouble I'm finding with it is that 90% of the decks I'm coming up against in both standard and expanded are Fire or Steel. So I'm either weak to them, or they're resistant to me. Either way it's a pretty miserable time.

It got me wondering though, either due to common mismatches like this or just a general lack of viable cards, which type is least viable overall?
