    So I've been playing for a bit, only theme decks so far, but it feels like one dead hand can just ruin a game from the start.

    Anyways, what's a good cheap meta deck I could start playing other modes w/? I'm fine with spending a bit, just looking for one on the cheaper end. Thanks!

    Discord/PTCGO team-ups

    Hello all, returning player to PTCGO and I'm looking for some friends with a better understanding of the game, as well as deck building and friendly game battles. It'd be nice to be able to talk with someone over discord and the link to bounce ideas off of or just talk about card mechanics/synergy.
    I stopped playing back before the release of Ultra Prism and since coming back around Christmas I've collected a fair amount of cards. I've subbed to a few interesting YouTube channels (TrickyGym, TrustYourPilot, AzulGG), but again I'd like to chat with other returning/seasoned folks in a real-time.
    Message me or reply if you have any suggestions for Discord groups/channels you think I should check out as well.

    Something in a Centiscorch VMax deck shutting down ADP?

    Does anyone know what could have been played in a Centiscorch deck that could have stopped me from taking an extra prize card after altered creation? There was a lost zone stadium card that required an extra energy to attack but I couldn't find any other abilities or cards that had been played that could have possibly been that disruptive. The only card that was consistently on the field was a Volcanion, and I didn't check it but I'm pretty sure it's just the one that loads energies.

    New to the game got questions

    Hello I managed to download the APK on my phone and just downloaded they game on my computer last night, I feel like as I'm new to this game I may have questions is there a megathread post where I would be able to post any possible future questions. Obv any questions I have I will try to Google before asking.

    Also since starting the game I have this new urge to buy a deck (been searching the internet last night for local card shops) and redeem it on my account still working through the bot challenges, am I being too eager to buy a deck should I play through all the challenges and try delving in the game more while not spending to get a better grasp of the game

Part of this work requires the Tournaments services to be completely shut down and restarted. To avoid disrupting tournaments in progress, all tournament queues will be deactivated at ~07:30 PST (15:30 UTC) and the Tournaments services restart will occur after the conclusion of all tournaments that were underway prior to 07:30 PST. No player-facing changes are being implemented during this maintenance and we expect to have tournaments reactivated no later than 10:00 PST (18:00 UTC).

    Battle Styles: Yay or Nay?

    Currently, I am saving up a bunch of coin (only around 6000, but aiming for at least 15k). I plan to buy a bunch of Battle Styles packs once the set drops. But is it worth it? Should I buy DAA packs instead (because there are tons of good cards e.g. Crobat, Eternatus, Centi, etc.)

    Basically, do you think the cards in Battle Styles will be worth spending all my coins on? Or should I invest in other packs instead?

    How to beat adp?

    I recently finished building my first deck (woohoo!) and it's a mad party one.

    I struggle a lot with Zacian/ADP because I can't OHKO it untill waaay late into the game and its also a struggle to gust in a Zacian and OHKO it so early on. What can I do to fight this? Is there a specific card that is good or strategy?

    New to all of this and I'm curious about setting it up with my son

    So my 5yo son and I have been having a lot of fun with the battle academy box I got him for Christmas and we picked up some booster packs today and he got some other tins from family members. I just saw those online code cards they all came with and was about the throw them away until someone explained to me what they're for. I downloaded the game, went through the tutorial, and then entered all the codes to get the cards/decks into my collection. After I did all that I realized I could make an account for my son and we could play against each other, right? Or is it random opponents?

    1) I saw there were different types of accounts to setup (I just picked the open default one). Can I create one and limit it to playing against friends only? So I'd be the only one on his list?

    2) I didn't play the game at all outside the tutorial mode, but since I entered all the online codes I got, does someone get some sort of free starter deck or do I need to go buy cards for him to make a deck?

    3) I see you can trade cards, but can I just give away cards to my son? (I have multiple theme decks now in my collection and I don't need all of them)

    Sorry for the newb questions, but I'm trying to figure all this stuff out. Thanks for the help
