    Disconnections are getting worse

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 05:40 AM PDT

I play on android and while disconnections have always been common, this week I've been barely able to play 5 matches without a disconnect.

My biggest win streak since I started playing a month ago! Finally lost after facing my 4th single strike deck.

Can I transform a theme deck into playable standart/expanded deck?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 06:56 AM PDT

I used to play back in 2016, so I dint even get to see GXs in action when they released.
Managed to have a bench mega rayquaza deck and mega mewtwo deck, but scrapped them due to ShayminEx being banned and didnt think about other card to replace them.

So now I'm trying to get back into the game without spending anything, and bought the Relentless Flame theme deck, that has 2 Roaring Resolve charizards. Even though it is a stage 2, is it worth getting another of this theme deck to fill 4 charizards and make a gameplan based on getting them to stage 2 asap? What could be a possible second attacker or stall?

More single-prize draw engines after rotation?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 09:01 AM PDT

Dedenne-GX, Power Plant, and Chaotic Swell are rotating out, while Path to the Peak eliminates the ability of any rule box Pokemon. This card is going to be very popular, and it kills Kricketune V, Crobat V, and Zacian V—three of the most popular Pokemon-based draw engines.

I'm anticipating that Snorlax, Cinccino, and the new Jirachi will see increased use after rotation.

Do you think people will adjust their decks to have draw engines that bypass Path to the Peak? What other Pokemon do you think could become popular?

    Hello peeps, I have returned

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 02:33 AM PDT

I have returned with 20 more codes, more to follow in coming days. I ask that you only take two, don't be greedy. If you miss out, you can DM me within the next hour for two codes. Don't be snake in the grass. No more DMs tonight.

Edit - Next giveaway will be a trivia contest.

If a mod sees this and wouldn't mind helping me with trivia questions/answers, that would help me get more codes sent out as I don't play ptcgo and I only occasionaly play the main line games. I'll toss codes to the mod that helps as thanks.

The codes are gone, I have six more on my desk, message me for two.

Thoughts on Alcremie VMAX once Chilling Reign is released?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 12:01 PM PDT

Psychic types are finally getting some energy acceleration thanks to Chilling Reign and I was wondering what your thoughts were on Alcremie VMAX. With Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX, Gardevoir, Cresselia, & Fog Crystal, it will be a lot quicker/easier to attach energy to your Pokemon to do major damage with Alcremie VMAX. Does anyone else see the potential here?

    Alcremie VMAX

    Psychic – HP310

VMAX Pokemon – Evolves from Alcremie V

[C] Adornment: For each of your Benched Pokemon, search your deck for a [P] Energy card and attach it to that Pokemon. Then shuffle your deck.

[P][P] G-Max Whisk: 60x damage. Discard any amount of Energy from your Pokemon. This attack does 60 damage for each card you discarded in this way.

When your Pokemon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

    Weakness: Metal (x2)
    Resistance: None
    Retreat: 3

    Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX

    Psychic – HP320

VMAX Pokemon – Evolves from Shadow Rider Calyrex V

    Ability: Underworld Door
Once during your turn you may attach a [P] Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Benched [P] Pokemon. Then, draw 2 cards.

[C][C][C] Max Geist: 10+ damage. This attack does 30 more damage for each [P] Energy attached to your Pokemon in play.

When your Pokemon VMAX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

    Weakness: Darkness (x2)
    Resistance: Fighting (-30)
    Retreat: 2

    Cresselia

    Psychic – HP120
    Basic Pokemon

[P] Crescent Growth: Search your deck for a [P] Energy and attach it to 1 of your Pokemon. Then, shuffle your deck. If you go second, on your first turn you may attach up to 3 [P] Energy to 1 of your Pokemon instead.

[P][P] Photon Laser: 30+ damage. If you have 5 or more Energy in play, this attack does 90 more damage.

    Weakness: Darkness (x2)
    Resistance: Fighting (-30)
    Retreat: 1

    Gardevoir

    Psychic – HP140
Stage 2 – Evolves from Kirlia

    Ability: Arcana Shine
Once during your turn you may look at the top 2 cards of your deck. Choose any number of basic Energy you find there and attach them to your Pokemon in any way you like. Put the other cards into your hand.

[C][C][C] Brain Wave: 60+ damage. This attack does 30 more damage for each [P] Energy attached to this Pokemon.

    Weakness: Metal (x2)
    Resistance: none
    Retreat: 2

    Fog Crystal

    Trainer – Item

Search your deck for either a Basic [P] Pokemon or [P] Energy, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn.

Person who doesn't want to spend coins on HG/SS packs here, does anyone play Legacy?

Can someone teach me the basics of trading and constructing a deck?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 10:27 AM PDT

So, I recently started playing again and have a lot of packs and would like to construct a deck (Victini/Rapidash) but don't know how to even start trading with others and how to get the cards that are worth 0 packs (on price checking sites). And how to get the cards I want that cost packs but are overpriced on public offers? All help is appreciated.

How will Chilling Reign affect the value of Galatian Rapidash V?

    Posted: 02 Jun 2021 10:26 AM PDT

I'm really busy right now so I haven't been able to play much PTCGO, but I've been watching the prices of a few newer cards (in preparation for set release) and have noticed that Galatians Rapidash seems to be a pretty decent card. Don't quote me on it, but it does seem to be declining in value slightly. If I want to be able to play somewhat competitively after set release, should I try and pick some up now, or do you think that they will be cheaper to trade for later? Thanks!
