Pack/Chests Pulls, Personal Tournament Results, & All Other "Show-Off" Posts will now only be allowed on Saturdays!

    Hello all!

A few months ago we ran a poll that requested users to vote on if we should allow pack pulls, or other forms of users showing off results from tournaments, chests rewards, & more.

It was overwhelming in the favor of removing them all-together.

However, I know many of you, such as myself in the past, had nobody else to share in your excitement. That's why I have been discussing internally in pursuing an avenue in which everyone can be happy.

I think the best solution moving forward is for us to move these type of posts to Saturdays, which we'll be calling "Show-Off Saturdays" for the foreseeable future.

Saturdays from 12AM-11:59PM ET (Think New York City Time as a reference), we will allow people to post individual posts showing off their week's worth of tournament results, pack pulls, chests rewards, and more. We will not be making a mega-thread.

Posts that are created outside this allotted time will be deleted, with a warning given. Repeat offenders will result in your Reddit account becoming suspended or banned from partaking in this particular subreddit, /r/ptcgo.

If you feel like you can't wait to show-off on Saturdays, utilize the subreddit we have made for use any-day of the week: /r/ptcgopulls

For those of you who think this will leave nothing left for the subreddit. That is simply untrue. There are many other topics left for discussions such as:

    • Deck Advice

    • Personal Thoughts on the game (Keep it clean/constructive)

    • Questions not answered in Sidebar

    • Meta Discussion

    • Current Pricing Analysis

    • Recent IRL Tournament Discussions

    • Trading Post will still be active weekly

    • Giveaways

    • Technical Help

    • PSAs on Bugs/Glitches

    • Official PTCGO Developer updates

I hope with these adjustments, people who are for, and against show-off posts, can agree that this is the best likely path to appeasing everyone.

    Thank You!

Think I broke the record for worst RNG in a game. This was in the second round of a tourney. Not worth the 20 minute wait xd

    A possible dimension valley ban(Expanded)

This just seems like an eventuality. One day a card is going to be released that with dimension valley is going to break the game. What do you guys think are the odds of this happening and how do you think it would change the expanded format?

    Standard newbie questions

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 09:27 AM PST

I started playing ptcgo recently and had a few beginner questions and some of the sidebar guides seem like they may be a bit outdated.

Are there any decks in the shop that are worth buying twice? If so, is it because the trainers/items/Pokemon are popular/good in general or because it gets you close to building a currently popular deck?

Should I try to buy one of each of the recent decks or just get a couple and stockpile gold for something else?

I saw mention of gold entry tournaments that give out tickets for rewards, is this the best use of gold? Are there ever special tournaments with rewards other than the normal boosters I should wait for?

Are there any decent beginner (collection) standard decks? I saw one based off of Pokemon with nuzzle recently that looked interesting without too many rare/expensive cards, is there a common decklist search location?

Any other things I should look out for or common rookie mistakes you regret making whenever you started?

Not that I'm complaining, but shouldn't the Event prizes have reverted back to random standard packs?

I'm not sure about the exact dates and times of pack changes, but last I read, people were saying that it should have happened yesterday (18th November) at 12 noon PST. It's 19th and 8:16 AM now. Does this mean they're extending the slot for CEC packs like before?
