How to choose locked packs to open if you also have unlocked packs.

I went to open a locked vivid pack and opened an unlocked one instead. How do I choose the unlocked one to open?

I love theme decks. So fun /s

This deck annihilated me. How long must you play to get such powerful cards?

Card archetypes from a long time MTG player.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 08:17 AM PST

Recently got into PTCG while taking a break from MTG, and was wondering if people with a broader knowledge could help identify some common card type examples to help translate into the game.

The lack of interaction on an opponents turn would mean nothing exists akin to Counterspell I would assume. But I do wonder what other types of interaction are possible with PTCG. I have come across a lot of card draw and tutor effects, that much is clear. But i was wondering how much disruption exists in PTCG.

In Magic there is lots of options for creature removal, hand destruction, land destruction, Bounce effects, board wipes (symmetrical or asymmetrical), and many other ways to stall or even stop an opponents plan. Admittedly I have only been playing a few days and mostly standard, but it seems to be that I cannot interact with my opponent very much. Getting my big guy ready and attacking before them seems to be the optimal way to win. So is there ways to hinder my opponent (especially the "backline") or is that not really a function in PTCG?

How do I see the Players Cup 2 deck lists? Wanna see the exact ratios in Zach Lesage's deck.

What is the single most valuable/expensive card you can pull in a trade-able pack?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 08:06 AM PST

I started thinking about this as I was hunting for secret rare Exeggcutes from Plasma Blast the other day. Is it the Quick Ball? Ultra Ball from PF? Something else?

Just curious what else is out there that can be pulled and has a ton of trade value.

    Deck for new player

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:31 PM PST

So from what I've been reading I should be aiming to get soaring storm as a trial deck. Beyond that I was just wondering what budget decks I should be aiming to build? I've dabbled in card games before not that I would say I'm experienced in them and I tend to play either rush decks or decks that you need to manipulate your card/deck in any way. (For example I played a mix of oracle think tank, aqua force and granblue in Vanguard if anyone is familiar with that game.)

Why is Shaymin-EX ROS 106 banned in Expanded? I found it in an old deck list.

Dragonite EX can substitute Shaymin EX in dunk decks

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 12:14 PM PST

Dragonite EX lets you put 2 non EX pokemon from your discard pile onto your bench. If you target 2 Unown Draws, then you will get 2 draws every time you play Dragonite EX. You should pair this alongside Scoop Up Net.
