Let me (try to) help! I've built a few mediocre rogue decks in the past, and recently I've been working on an Empoleon deck for standard. And as much as I enjoy playing it, I want to help build and refine some other fun off-meta decks that at least stand a chance in the current metagame. Now, I don't have every card. | Stealthy Hood & Absol Rules Question Posted: 11 Nov 2019 06:14 AM PST I was just playing PTCGO and had a moment that confused me. I had a hood on my active. Other player had 4 Absols on their bench and they were swinging with Tangrowthfrom Cosmic Eclipse.'s Grass Knot. This attack does 10+ 30 more for each colorless in your opponents retreat cost). My active had a base retreat cost of 2, but they hit for 190. Should it have been 70? Am I misinterpreting the stealthy hood? I thought I made a play that was going to save me the knockout so I was bummed, hoping this is a bug in the game. [link] [comments] |

It then uses Muk & Alolan Muk-GX to attack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjUJJbGCigA - This is a deck that uses Koga's Trap and the same Muk as the top one. | Challenges not completed during tournament Posted: 11 Nov 2019 01:24 AM PST I just completed a tournament in theme and won my first game with only 10 seconds left to go into the next game. I got the beginning of the animation of the challenge gauges going up, but it got cut off by the next game starting (which I assume caused the problem here). After the tournament, I checked on my challenges, and noticed it they hadn't gone up the amount that I should have gotten from my first game (my 1000 damage challenge should have been completed). | Posted: 11 Nov 2019 12:25 AM PST Hey y'all. Sorry I didn't grab the log, I'll do my best to explain the game state. It happened on stream so I can clip it if need be. I had 2 prize cards left with ReshiRom in the active with 2 F and 2 L attached. My opponent had 2 Pokémon benched. The plan was to Cross Break GX and snipe the 2 on the board but after whiffing N's Resolve the game wouldn't let me select the GX attack at all, as if I hadn't met the energy requirements or I'd already used it. Nothing played previously would lock out a GX attack either (no Latios GX or anything). I ended up losing and scratching my head. What happened? [link] [comments] |

| In need of advice: which deck to buy? Posted: 10 Nov 2019 09:51 PM PST Noob player here, I was acquainted with the Pokémon TCG when I was a kid and even played the GBC version for a while. That said, the game has come a long way and there are several new types of cards and decks which really confuse me. So I want some suggestions about which decks are quite good by themselves, since I just started it and I have only opened like 6 booster packs... So my card collection is quite lacking. | Posted: 10 Nov 2019 08:38 PM PST I'm still at disbelief if the ruling of Groudon's Trembling Ground is working as intended in the game. Groudon's Trembling Ground's effect is "This Pokemon can't use Trembling Ground during your next turn" however if you were to switch it twice using Tate & Liza and Switch back to the active, the restriction is lifted. I've done this multiple times and I'm still at awe as to how dumb (or clever?) this works. What are your thoughts? [link] [comments] |

My mom used to play the pokemon card game and she would like to get back into it but all of the cards she had before are now super outdated. Whats a good expanded deck that she could make, that is easy to use, and fun, that costs less than 20 or so cosmic eclipse packs? Not wanting to spend more than 20 bucks, but if you have good deck ideas for even cheaper, the better. But she needs to be able to win with the deck in expanded, at least a 50 percent win rate or so potentially. Thanks ! [link] [comments] |

I've only been playing Pokémon for about a month and the deck I've been using is malamar.
